Best of, with Bianca: Stalking technology

I had the pleasure of attending ‘Now Next Why’ hosted by Contagious. A key theme was this idea of perceptive media, which continued a few discussions we have had in the office around filter bubbles and bespoke marketing.

Whatever your view point on data sharing, perceptive or ‘smart’ branding should actually make everyone’s lives a little easier. This is not the opportunity for brands to shout louder, but for us to filter out all the useless blanket marketing. Read more…

Hello, and welcome to 2012. It’s almost the end of January, it’s not (that) cold outside, and pay day is really, really soon. Hoorah!

1. “I see you baby…”

January is a bit rubbish. It’s post party season and everyone is all ‘No thanks, I am not drinking’ or ‘Nah, I’m on a diet’.

January is hard enough without all this nonsense. Enter Nike Fuel. The wristband that counts everything. And although the technology and idea are not the first of their kind, this promotional video does a very good job. It even convinced me that moving looks like a lot of fun.

My Favourite iPhone Apps of 2011

Here are a collection of my favourite apps from last year. What were yours?

Must-haves

IncrediBoothI love this app. You can now have your own old-fashioned photo booth on your phone.

Nice to have you here.

I am Bianca, a Junior Planner at Collective. I am a professional hunter and gatherer of ‘good stuff on the internet’ and this is where I share it.

I have been moving house recently and had limited internet connection in the interim period. It was tough. When I thought about a permanent state of disconnected-ness, I went into a blind panic. Imagine. Not being connected to anything. Ever. Although the internet is not that old, and most of us remember having house phones and stationery sets and actually using them, it is still almost impossible to imagine living without it.

This weeks focus is all the other great things that have been made possible by the internet. Read more…

Hello, and welcome to the Best Of with Bianca, post number 2.

Niceness: Art of Flight

Last week a few team members of Collective sat down to watch Art of the Flight. The latest Snowboarding film to be released, sponsored by Red Bull. Adrenaline junkies do not begin to describe what these gentlemen do for a living. This film captures the most extreme snowboarding stunts executed by the most extreme snowboarders and helicopter pilots on this planet. If these ridiculous stunts aren’t enough to keep you entertained the cinematography and soundtrack capturing the awe inspiring beauty of the landscape will leave you breathless. Read more…

Welcome to the first ever ‘Best of’ with your host Bianca!

“Who is Bianca?”

I am a Junior Planner here at Collective.

“Best of what?”

The internet. Here is where I get to share all the campaigns, music, blogs, innovation, etc etc that we have found interesting or funny here at Collective. Don’t worry; nothing too taxing – it is Friday after all. We just want to share it, in the hope that it may just possibly make your world a better place.

Firstly have a listen to this:

Music: Gardens and Villa

And then have a watch of this: (WARNING: It might make you feel old.)

Inspiration: Sixth Grader is the creator of Bustin Jeiber.

Innovation: Throwable Panoramic Camera.

Mediating Media: The Digital 3D.

Greg Tran, a recent graduate of Harvard Design School, created this video as an exploration of what the future could look like. Highlighting the crucial and intrinsic role of Augmented Reality in this new intuitive world.

Happy weekend.

Tap Poles

The dev team at Collective’s sister agency Furnace have been hard at it during their lunch breaks and have come up with this storming swimathon – Tap Poles – in this four player game you race your little critters to the finish lines as quick as your little fingers can tap. Best of all it’s free and we wanted to flex our app muscles – get involved – get tapping!
